Is there a guide to in place upgrade?

  • Part 1/2

  • Part 2/2

Again info about successfull upgrade was show.

    After reboot:

    root@OMV:~# dpkg-query -W -f='${Version}' openmediavault

    5.6.26-1root@OMV:~#

  • Where?

    Please post the output of

    cat /etc/debian_version

    apt-cache policy openmediavault

    Info was after executing "omv-release-upgrade".

    • Official Post

    Err:15 http://security.debian.org/debian-security bullseye/updates Release

    change the line

    deb http://security.debian.org/ bullseye-security main contrib non-free

    in /etc/apt/sources list to

    deb https://deb.debian.org/debian-security bullseye-security main contrib non-free

    then

    omv-aptclean

    and

    omv-upgrade

  • Still the same. It is possible that exist 2 sources.list?

    Part1/2

  • Part2/2

  • This is probably the last problem:

    Code
W: --force-yes is deprecated, use one of the options starting with --allow instead.

    I can't find any file containing --force-yes

    with command:

    Where can it be located?

  • But after omv-upgrade, omv-release-upgrade and reboot I have info about successfully upgrade to omv6, but I don't have a GUI via web browser and omv is still

    root@OMV:~# dpkg-query -W -f='${Version}' openmediavault

    5.6.26-1root@OMV:~#

and is not upgraded to bullseye.

  • Using putty on windows for ssh, the beginning of the output 5.1 is not visible (can't scroll, maybe too long output?). Starting post from network error (missing mac). All what I can copy from putty is here: https://1dr

    • Official Post
    Code
/etc/netplan/20-openmediavault-enx001e0632bfca.yaml:5:20: Error in network definition: Invalid MAC address '', must be XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX
    macaddress:

Manally add the MAC address to that file. You can get it with ip a

then run the omv-salt command again to see if the error is gone

  • Always after restoring backup this file contains mac. Always after executing "omv-salt stage run deploy" error apears and mac is missing. I can add mac manually, repeat omv-salt... and mac is missing again. Continuing with point 5.2 and finishing upgrade always giving false "successfull" message and there is no change.

    I've tried this several times.
