I lost the ability to login via SSH

  • Hi,

It may just be a coincidence, but after updating my MAC to Monterey (12.2.1) I can't log into the system via SSH.

    I get this error:

    Code
Last login: Sun Mar 13 21:48:14 on ttys000

The default interactive shell is now zsh.
To update your account to use zsh, please run `chsh -s /bin/zsh`.

    Mac-mini-de-Reginaldo:~ RSPS-MACmini$ ssh pi@192.168.11.200
    pi@192.168.11.200's password:
"System is booting up. Unprivileged users are not permitted to log in yet. Please come back later. For technical details, see pam_nologin(8)."
Connection closed by 192.168.11.200 port 22
    Mac-mini-de-Reginaldo:~ RSPS-MACmini$

    Thank you for your help.

  • Have you read the error message?

unprivileged user = non root user

If you got help in the forum and want to give something back to the project click here (omv) or here (scroll down) (plugins) and write up your solution for others.

    • Official Post
    Code
"System is booting up. Unprivileged users are not permitted to log in yet. Please come back later. For technical details, see pam_nologin(8)."

This usually means OMV is not finished booting yet. Try rebooting at the console is booting correctly.

If you make it idiot proof, somebody will build a better idiot.
