NFS-Freigaben nach Neustart nicht erreichbar

  • Hallo,

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hello,

I installed OMV6.0.17-1 on a Raspberry Pi4 and connected an external 3.5'' HDD with its own power supply as data storage. Formatted and embedded with ext4.

Share created via NFS. As far as can be reached via a Proxmox server or Proxmox backup server.

The Raspberry should not run 24/7, so an auto shutdown is set up. The Raspberry is started with a timer.

Every time OMV shuts down and then restarts again, NFS shares are not even reachable. (Contents can, however, be opened via SMB share). As soon as a setting is changed in one of the NFS shares on OMV (regardless of which share and regardless of the setting), the shares are accessible again after the transfer of the configuration. So it seems to me that the NFS settings are not fully loaded on startup. Is there a solution or a workaround for this?

  • Pis don't have Real-Time-Clock unless you put a HAT.

This breaks the time on it everytime you shutdown.

Maybe a delay on the NFS service can help.

    -----------------------------------

Shouldn't the problem then also exist on an RPi with OMV5.x? I did not observe this behavior here.

  • Does the same happens if you just reboot the Pi manually?

Just throwing this to the air:

My access to OMV6 NFS is from a LibreElec Pi and another Pi running Nextcloud.

Also have my Windows laptop accessing a NFS shared folder (mounted as a drive) and have zero issues on reboots.

Maybe someone else has some other view on this.

    -----------------------------------------

I ran a Rebbot on the RPi before enabling the NFS shares through a settings tweak and after doing so. Both times the NFS shares were not accessible after the reboot.

Soma --> If it works for you, there will be no fundamental malfunction in the OMV6. I'll set up the Pi again and report back afterwards.

  • Post some screen shots of your settings of the NFS share so to see if we can spot any error.

On a side note, I'm not that experienced on NFS but it will help someone else.

    ---------------------------------

Well I reinstalled the RPi with Raspberian and OMV6 and I have the same problem.

Now I was wondering if it could be the HDD. For this I installed the sharerootfs plugin and created an NFS share on the root partition. This is recognized immediately after a reboot, while the share on the HDD is still not recognized.

    Result: It's the HDD.

  • Hallo macom,

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    Hello macom,

yes, the [systemctl restart nfs-server] command fixes the error after a reboot.

Can I automate this command after a reboot?

    # crontab -e
    @reboot systemctl restart nfs-server

    ---------------------------------------------------

I used the command in a cron job with root:

    # crontab -e

    @reboot systemctl restart nfs-server

1 minute after reboot, all NFS-shares are available
