I just looked at your screenshot again, you already have omv-extras installed.. so why didn't you just install resetperms from the plugins list?

Use chip to fix you root password (since it is apparently wrong)
sudo passwd root
enter chips sudo password when asked.
enter and confirm a new root password
drop to your root shell by typing su - and then entering your new root password to test it.

Now beyond that.. while I guess it's good we got your root account fixed... You didn't need to do any of that to install the reset permissions plugin.
You already have omv-extras installed, which is the repo for that plugin. So click the plugins, search for reset and you'll see it and can install it.
