Macbook vs SMB

    Dear All,


    I have a problem with SMB and Macbook. SMB on mackbook (Monteray OS) is quite slow compared to windows. For example, using Beyond Compare to compare folders taks ages on mac while in Windows is very fast. I have tried:


    1) Made the nsmb.conf file in /etc/ (since Big Sur doesnt make one by default) and added the "[default] signing_required=no" lines.

    2) added the "var objects = fruit" line to the config in my OMV SMB server.

    3) ran the terminal line: sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0


    Unfortunately, BCompare is still very slow compared to Windows. The issue is clear to be on macbook.


    Do you have the same issue. Do you know how can it be fixed?

    I have the same / similar problem. I can copy only a few files or one folder at once.

    If I try to copy a huge amount of files I get an error message, or it is very slow...

    I have a new MacBook Pro and on my old Windows desktop its much more faster without error messages. -.-
