Failled boot drive, is it possible to recover the data array?

  • Hello, i hope i am in the right section, i recently had to shutdown my test OMV setup, it was booting from a cheap USB stick that failed at reboot, i tried recovering the data from it and most of it was still recoverable but the sda1 partition table, so as far as i know this install is fully dead. although my 5 data drives are still good and functional, is there a way to rebuild the array on a new OMV install, or do i need to start from scratch?

    Thanks

    setup:

    boot drive: usb key

data drives: 5 diverse 1TB sata drives i had lying around in software raid 5 plugged to an LSISAS1068 sas controller

    mainboard: Supermicro H8SCM-F

    all into a Supermicro chassis

trying to install an LTO drive to have backups, it is then that the boot drive failed...

  • well, i am a morron, i created the subject while downloading because the debian installer failed to recognize the array, in the end the OMV installer does find it

    thanks anyhow

  • macom
