Rsync between 2 RPIs failed

    Hi all


    in RPI4 8GB I installed OMV with raid 1 configuration.

    I created an Rsync job in order to copy data from another RPI into OMV.

    But I noticed that the job ends with:


    packet_write_wait: Connection to 192.168.x.xxx port xxx: Broken pipe


    rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (84817182613 bytes received so far) [receiver]

    rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(235) [receiver=3.1.3]

    rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (346074 bytes received so far) [generator]

    rsync error: unexplained error (code 255) at io.c(235) [generator=3.1.3]


    ERROR: The synchronisation failed.


    Do you know the reason of this behaviour? how can I fix the issue?

    Probably a network issue, restart the job. or the pi on 192.168.x.xxx crashed

    If you got help in the forum and want to give something back to the project click here (omv) or here (scroll down) (plugins) and write up your solution for others.

    after digging.. I found there was active tasks running (like reboot and trimming SSD on source server) which cause the issue in rsync.

    Pausing or moving such tasks in other timframe... permited me to solve the issue.
