Moving from UFS to MergeFS

  • Hi,

I'm planning to move from OMV 5 to OMV 6.

Now i have one hdd for the OS and 3 HDD for the data. This last 3 HDD uses UFS.

The problem is that on OMV 6 UFS does not exist and i will need to use MergeFS, but i don't know if i can move from one systen to another without loosing my data.

    Thanks

Just upgrade to OMV 6.x. I spent days writing the migration scripts to the new openmediavault-mergerfs plugin which combines unionfilesystems and mergerfsfolders plugins (mentioned in the first post).

And as I have said many, many times, losing a mergerfs (or UFS which is mergerfs) pool will NEVER cause you to lose data since it is sitting on top of other filesystems.
