Missing drive

  • Hello,

I have received a notification by snapraid today:

    Zitat

ERROR - Data Disk /srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-1e9433cd-993d-4af7-9114-fb761bccdbbf not found or is not mounted!

Sync job cancelled to prevent data loss.

Altough smart is configured, I did not get a notification yet that this drive is missing :/

When looking at the Filesystems Section of the Web-Interface, I see one drive missing (in fact two drives, but one of it is a USB drive, that I use for Backups).

But from the WebInterface, I have no way to identify what this drive is, that is missing.

Looking further, I get some clues:

    Code
    cat /etc/fstab |grep 1e9433cd
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/1e9433cd-993d-4af7-9114-fb761bccdbbf /srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-1e9433cd-993d-4af7-9114-fb761bccdbbf ext4 defaults,nofail,user_xattr,usrjquota=aquota.user,grpjquota=aquota.group,jqfmt=vfsv0,acl 0 2

    /media/678c601d-8d2e-4be0-9226-d20a6f772f8b:/srv/dev-disk-by-label-Big5:/srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-ST4000DM005-2DP166_ZDH26KL5-part1:/srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-1e9433cd-993d-4af7-9114-fb761bccdbbf /srv/mergerfs/Big_Snapraid fuse.mergerfs category.create=epmfs,minfreespace=4G,fsname=Big_Snapraid:c3962c49-2858-4b69-b627-ce1c63630a92,defaults,allow_other,cache.files=off,use_ino,x-systemd.requires=/media/678c601d-8d2e-4be0-9226-d20a6f772f8b,x-systemd.requires=/srv/dev-disk-by-label-Big5,x-systemd.requires=/srv/dev-disk-by-id-ata-ST4000DM005-2DP166_ZDH26KL5-part1,x-systemd.requires=/srv/dev-disk-by-uuid-1e9433cd-993d-4af7-9114-fb761bccdbbf 0 0

    So far, it makes sense.

But now, I would like to see, what Serialnumber this drive has - that is the only way that I know to really identify the drive.

Is there any way to get that?

Improvements that I would wish from OMV:

Today Web-Interface indicates drives that are missing, but gives no information whatsoever in order to identify the broken drive.

To be: The following information should be displayed to identify the missing drive:

    1) Drive Serial-Number

    2) UUID

    3) previous mountpoint

    4) (last known) /dev/sd* designator

    Best regards,

    Hendrik

  • Thanks.

So, I would print that list, go to the machine and check for which drive I cannot find the S/N in the Web-Interface, right?

Still, I think OMV could do better... In the Filesystems Tab it should indicate what Drive is missing.

    Otherwise, there remains guesswork, no?

    Best regards,

    Hendrik
