S.M.A.R.T. test won't allow me to select a device

  • I just put a hard drive into my OMV machine and I want to run a long self SMART test on it before moving data to it (it's a used drive I got from someone). I select SMART, go to Scheduled Tests, and select Add. The Enable toggle is green/active. When I click the arrow to select a device, it acts like it wants to load a list but then disappears quickly and never lets me select which drive I want to test. What am I doing wrong?

  • You need to enable SMART monitoring in the SMART | Devices page.

Oh shoot I forgot about this post. I figured that part out the next day and felt dumb. Although when it was running I couldn't tell how far in the progress the test was. I think it finished because I left it alone for over a day but I'm not exactly sure. It lets your close the pop-up box when the test is running
