DNS name resolving ends with error

Hi,

i am running a OMV6 with a PiHole Container via OMV Portainer. PiHole is my local DN-Server in my LAN. That works fine for all devices in my LAN but not for OMV6 itsself.

I am not able to install plugins due to dns resolving errors, although I configured my local DNS in the network => interfaces => advanced setting for eth0. [of course i did a reboot]

Has anyone a clue how to fix this?

Add an additional DNS server in the setwork settings. E.g. IP of your router and an external one like 1.1.1.1

Not posible to use pi-hole on OMV itself. because its a container inside OMV.

use 8.8.8.8 on OMV instead.

Thinking out loud here, but would not be a great idea, if possible, to integrate pi-hole into OMV? e.g. as a plugin with a cool interface?
I wish I had the technical know how to do this.

I can imagine a number of scenarios where OMV would best placed to provide local DNS and DHCP service.

pihole or other dns servers work quite well in docker on OMV. The dnsmasq plugin was not used by many people. Many people do not know how to stop using their router for dns.

I think the capsulation into a docker container is a better solution than putting as many services as possible into omv. (although all of them are running on the same hardware).
