Raid devices listed in the wrong order

  • I have a problem where the file system devices in openmediavault do not correspond with the actual system devices any more.

this is a new installation of

    install light version debian 11

install openmediavault V6 on top of Debian 11

On my NAS (QNAP 459-Pro II) running openmediavault version 6.0.34-1 (shaitn) on linux kernel: Linux 5.10.0-16-amd64 I have 2 raid 5 devices

    MD0 - Raid 5 - 189 Gbyte (system software, applications)

    MD1 - Raid 5 - 17 TByte (data)

    md0 : active raid5 sdd1[5] sdc1[4] sdb1[0] sde1[6]

    202238976 blocks super 1.2 level 5, 512k chunk, algorithm 2 [4/4] [UUUU]

    md1 : active raid5 sdd3[6] sdc3[5] sdb3[0] sde3[4]

    17351603712 blocks super 1.2 level 5, 512k chunk, algorithm 2 [4/4] [UUUU]

    bitmap: 0/44 pages [0KB], 65536KB chunk

The problem I have is that openmediavault lists these devices, out of the blue, in the wrong order, used to be correct but after a reboot a few days ago

dm-0 used to list /dev/md0 but now it lists /dev/md1

    dm-1 lists now md0 and not md1

where could this have done wrong and more important how to fix this?

    Thanks, Leen

  • how to fix this?
