Unstable SMB/CIFS service on Raspberry Pi OMV 6.0.37-1 (Shaitan)

  • Hi there,

After have used OMV during years on an old Raspberry PI with success, I had the bad idea to upgrade the hardware to the last Raspy 4 with 8Go to run faster on Ethernet.
Install ok, but SMB/CIFS is unstable and suddently stop after something like 1 hour of backup from a LAN client.
The only solution seems to be a full hardware restart, asked form the Admin menu because OMV web pages are always running correctly.
Have you laread yencoutered that issue, guys ?
Thanks if any track to follow to resolve.

    Best Regards
    Francois

  • USB drives have a dedicated power supply?

    Yep !
External USB3 blocs for 5 disks from ORICO with integrated PSU.
I own two of them, one for 4x 3.5" disks, another for 5x 2.5", each group is a single RAID5
First "old" group working from years is the 4x 3.5" bloc.

  • and for the RPi4, original Raspberry Foundation power supply is used?

omv 6.9.6-2 (Shaitan) on RPi CM4/4GB with 64bit Kernel 6.1.21-v8+

2x 6TB 3.5'' HDDs (CMR) formatted with ext4 via 2port PCIe SATA card with ASM1061R chipset providing hardware supported RAID1

omv 6.9.3-1 (Shaitan) on RPi4/4GB with 32bit Kernel 5.10.63 and WittyPi 3 V2 RTC HAT

    2x 3TB 3.5'' HDDs (CMR) formatted with ext4 in Icy Box IB-RD3662-C31 / hardware supported RAID1
