Hello everyone,
a few weeks ago, i replaced a faulty harddrive with a new one. Everything seems to work just the same, except, that the new HDD never spins down and goes to sleep.
Causing this is, according to iotop, constant I/O from the Journaling (jbd2/sdb1-8) and i can't seem to get rid of it. After a day of research i only managed to install a few monitoring tools, added noatime to /etc/fstab and got the idea to change the filesystem from ext4 to xfs/zfs.
So my question is:
- has anyone an idea, how i can stop the constant journaling, or investigate it further?
- what would be the easiest way to change my filesystem and which would you recommend?
Thanks for your help!
