Using NFS share as storage volume between containers

Hey!

I'm setting up OMV right now but I can't get an NFS volume to be used in a container.

Right now I'm using /storage as smb and NFS share which is an external harddrive in a dock connected to my server.

Somehow the container can recognise the mounting point but doesn't want to write there and the volume stays unused.

I have already checked the permissions. And I don't know any further.

Once something isn't working and I don't know any further I try to run something as sudo / root. Most likely that's not the best way to debug but the server is in my flat and since it barely has any features running (because of my problem in this thread) I think it shouldn't be that much of an issue as of now, right?

I have run the containers (jdownloader2 and qbittorent) with root permissions and they let me download files but the files won't appear in my shared folder. I have asked for helped already on the jdownloader2 docker image github.

You should run the docker as a user, that is created in the GUI of OMV. Doing so, the user is member of the users group and has read/write access to shared folders created in the GUI of OMV.

Thanks for the links. No I didn't do these steps.

Right now I am stuck at the step where I should install wetty but I can't find in the plugins / omvextras section.

I am on OMV 5.

wetty like a plugging is available only on OMV6, but still you can install wetty as docker stack:

REMOTE_SSH_PORT=2  by REMOTE_SSH_PORT=22 ( my fail)

and try to connect to : http://192.168.0.2:3000

of course, service SSH on 192.168.0.2 must be enable , and active on port 22

Ok I have wetty runing now. Somehow I don't understand what this is all about.

Why do I need a web terminal on my server? Plus I can't get it to work.

In OMV5 I just simply can't add an SSH pub key without a private key?!

You don't. It is just one way to get ssh access to the server. You can use as well putty or cmd or a console.

But why are you starting with OMV5? OMV5 is end of life and not supported any more. You should really start with OMV6.
