Hi Team,
First of all a thumbs up for all the great developers responsible for OMV.
I upgraded from version 5 to version 6 two days back and am really loving the new dashboard.
Environment Details:
---------------------------
OpenMediaVault Version: 6.3.2-1 (Shaitan)
Linux Version: Debian Linux version 11
Kernel version: Linux 5.4.203-1-pve
Hardware: WD DX4000
Boot Media: 16GB USB
Data Drives: 8TB, 4TB, 2 x 2TB SATA Disks
The OMV version 5 was running without any issues for a couple of years.
Yesterday i upgraded to version 6. using the below commands:
sudo omv-salt stage run deploy
sudo omv-upgrade
sudo omv-release-upgrade
The upgrade went smoothly and i was up and running with OMV6.
Then i got a notification for some new updates. So i decided to update them as well from the Web Interface. The updates started happening. But after some time he web interface timed out and automatically logged me out. This caused disconnection for the updates that were happening at that time.
Now the notification section always tells me that there are background tasks happening. But when i try to attach to them i get the below error:
500 - Internal Server Error Failed to open file (filename=/tmp/bgstatuszlNwEI, mode=r). 3 minutes ago
If i try to stop the background task it gives me the same error again.
Below screenshots for reference.
I actually tried to play safe and took a system boot disk backup before the update using the backup utility (openmediavault-backup 6.1) using dd full disk method.
I was able to restore this backup onto a new 32GB USB using Win32 Disk Imager on Windows 10 but that didn't work. The USB did boot into OMV installation but it gave some new errors and i was not able to configure the network. I then installed debian linux 11 on a VM on WMware workstation and did a backup restore using dd but that ended in the same result.
Now, since the backup is useless. I guess my only chance is to make the current install functional.
Is there any command that i can run that does integrity check on the current install and repair any errors?
Or, somehow to cancel the background tasks and errors.
Best regards,
Adeel
