    for others that come here: this is a good procedure for the OMV5 to OMV6 upgrade

    Contributions wanted:
    1. Backup the OS drive (this is allways a good idea, not only for upgrades)
    2. Make sure, you have enough free space on your os drive
    3. Check any installed plugins if they have been ported to OMV6
      If you are using plugins which have not been / will not be ported, get rid of the plugins except unionfs / mergefolderfs. These two will automatically be be converted to the newer mergerfs plugin
      (Many plugins can be replaced by docker containers. Do this before upgrading)

    Well, after digging into the shared thread, I couldn't find anything exactly similar. The only case that looked identical ended up with a new OMV installation by the person involved.


    In the meantime I tested a few commands, and must have screwed up (again). My NAS is not even visible on my network anymore.


    I guess I now need a new and fresh OMV installation?

    I regret not having made a backup of my containers

    I plugged a monitor into my NAS and no OMV related commands work. I will see to make a backup of my containers if possible, before I imagine to reinstall OMV from scratch

    If you installed those containers with docker compose try to retrieve the yaml composition files. It will be much easier to leave everything as you had it.

    And, by the way, when you have installed OMV from the ISO image that is currently available for download, it will still be necessary to apply the solution to apparmor after updating the system that was linked to you in post 2.
