Another Upgrade Error

I ran the most recent set of upgrades, including upgrading to the current Docker version. To get around the known problems I ran the suggested (apparmor) commands, and Docker and Portainer start normally. However, when trying to update a container I get the following error:

Failure

Get "https://registry-1.docker.io/v2/": dial tcp: lookup registry-1.docker.io on 10.28.1.1:53: read udp 10.28.1.150:36489->10.28.1.1:53: i/o timeout

Reverting to the previous version (5:20.10.23~3-0) fixes the problem, but I would be grateful if anybody can help with a more enduring fix? DNS is set to 8.8.8.8.

You could just bump your thread instead of thinking everyone is ignoring your post. I didn't see it myself.

Can you pull a new image? How are you trying to update a container? From portainer?

Thanks ryecoaaron, I appreciate the reply.

I'm trying to update a container from within portainer. When I try to pull a new image I get the error, if I recreate without downloading a new image it works fine. It seems the issue relates to pulling a new image.

Reverting back to 23.3.0 fixes the problem, i.e. I can update a container and pull a new image within portainer.

What apparmor commands did you run? I would also be curious if docker pull from the command line works.

I ran the commands listed on your post on February 2:

sudo mkdir -p /etc/default/grub.d

echo 'GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="$GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT apparmor=0"' | sudo tee /etc/default/grub.d/apparmor.cfg

sudo update-grub

sudo reboot

Haven't tried command line, couldn't quite figure out what the equivalent command is.

FYI, when I first upgraded I had the same issues experienced by most, running your suggested apparmor commands fixed everything apart from this (minor) issue.

Ah, maybe that's where I went wrong. I applied your commands after I updated. I'll try uninstalling both, I'll re-run the commands and then try installing.

I uninstalled both from the GUI, then tried to reinstall. When I click to upgrade configuration after installing docker I get the message:

You must have the test repo enabled. Run:

sudo apt-get install python3-docker

sudo omv-salt deploy run omvextras

You can upload the text file to the post instead of external site as well.

Thanks again ryecoaaron for the rapid reply. I'm not sure I have the test repo enabled, but when I run sudo apt-get install python3-docker I get the following response:
