Intel Server CPU temp not showing on dashboard

  • Extras installed same as a similar build with different MB that works.

Temp just shows red blank on dashboard.

CLI shows both CPU : sensors

    Intel S5520 HC board

    Dual Xeon CPU5110@1.60GHz

    coretemp-isa-0001

    Adapter: ISA adapter

    Core 0: +43.0°C

    Core 1: +45.0°C

    coretemp-isa-0000
    Adapter: ISA adapter

    Core 0: +55.0°C

    Core 1: +55.0°C

    sensors-detect shows:

Hygon Family 18h thermal sensors... No

    Intel digital thermal sensor... Success!

    (driver `coretemp')

Intel AMB FB-DIMM thermal sensor... Success!

    (driver `i5k_amb')

    Intel 5500/5520/X58 thermal sensor... No

    VIA C7 thermal sensor... No

    VIA Nano thermal sensor... No

    Trying family `National Semiconductor/ITE'... Yes

Found `Nat. Semi. PC87427 Super IO Fan Sensors'

    (but not activated)

Found `Nat. Semi. PC87427 Super IO Health Sensors'

    (but not activated)

Any ideas why it is not showing up?

  • Well here is the complete output of #sensors

    # sensors

    i5k_amb-isa-0000

    Adapter: ISA adapter

    Ch. 0 DIMM 0: +61.5°C (low = +97.0°C, high = +124.0°C)

    Ch. 0 DIMM 1: +66.5°C (low = +97.0°C, high = +124.0°C)

    Ch. 0 DIMM 2: +59.0°C (low = +110.5°C, high = +124.0°C)

    Ch. 0 DIMM 3: +57.0°C (low = +110.5°C, high = +124.0°C)

    Ch. 1 DIMM 0: +62.5°C (low = +110.5°C, high = +124.0°C)

    Ch. 1 DIMM 1: +66.5°C (low = +97.0°C, high = +124.0°C)

    Ch. 1 DIMM 2: +64.5°C (low = +110.5°C, high = +124.0°C)

    Ch. 1 DIMM 3: +56.5°C (low = +97.0°C, high = +124.0°C)

    coretemp-isa-0000

    Adapter: ISA adapter

    Core 0: +50.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

    Core 1: +50.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

    coretemp-isa-0001

    Adapter: ISA adapter

    Core 0: +39.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

    Core 1: +39.0°C (high = +80.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

So there are 2 CPU's Zones.

    Output of Sensors detect:

    # sensors-detect

    # sensors-detect version 3.6.0

    # System: Intel S5000VSA

    # Kernel: 6.1.0-0.deb11.5-amd64 x86_64

    # Processor: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 5110 @ 1.60GHz (6/15/6)

Looks to me that the sensor device is: driver i5k_amb

Is it possibly because there are 2,, anyone else running dual Xeons show both CPU temps ?

  • Let me clarify, temps show up in the Sensor widget, just not the temp gauge widget. Just a red block.

  • Dudesplace
