Yipeee!! Success!! everything is running great.
As I'm not a Linux-Pro, I had some troubles to manage the folder-sharings and the samba-services.
But now everything runs great. I have two test-Drives running with ntfs. I can manage them from my windows-PC and i can read and play the movies from my Linux Satellite-Receivers. At the moment I'm really happy with this
chente Soma Many many thanks to you. Without your assistance I wouldn't have made it. -

I don't want to be a killjoy, but... remember this...
They are incompatible with linux. It may work at first,... just possible... But after a while you will have problems.

chente Thanks for that hint. I know that. For shorter or longer I'll migrate the dsiscs to EXT4, when i will use that system permanently. At the moment, it was only a try, whether it's possible. For that I have just a question in advance. I told the discs to spindown after 10 minutes.
Is it possible to show the active/spindown-Status of the discs on the dashboard in a widget ?? that would be great. Just now I looked at m two discs. One is playing a movie. The other does nothing. Nevertheless it is not in spindown. ?? It is an older drive, so that could be a failure of the disc. I'll have a look at this.
Thank you -
Sorry, I never put my drives to sleep so I have no idea. But search the forum. There are many threads about idle drives.
Note: searching for forum threads in google gives better results than the internal search engine, unfortunately.
