Hi all !
(Eng. not native, I can't write very well...)
I caught an interesting situation + please add drivers for the network card.
A. Motherboard Gigabyte GA-D525TUD (rev 1.3), 2+2 SATA + IDE, and Realtec RTL8111E
B. last OMV ISO from site (6.0.24)
Ok
1. Use 3,5" mechanical SATA HDD for OS - system installed in "automatical mode", after full installed strange work update/add differents packages. Part`s instaleld, part`s called "502 Bad Gateway" (very random).
2. Next day - use 2,5" SATA SSD for OS (waiting adapter IDE to SATA) this adapter planned to use for "free 2+2 SATA in MB to 4 storage 3,5" BIG HDD".
And... encounter a situation that the same distribution kit and the same motherboard cannot automatically find the network card during installation (they offer to choose it yourself from the list).
It is not possible to select a working option (for RTL8111E), the entire installation cannot go beyond this step (or it is installed without the support of a network card and services).
In official Reatek site avalaible work drivers (2022/2023) for this "family" netcards for *nix OS (see URL)
*nix driver for Realtek NET card`s
3. This gets interesting... (different behavior of the installer depending on the type of HDD connection)
I connect the SSD disk (for OS) to the SATA port of the MB - the system set`s like the first time - completely automatically. (without stop for manual network card selection).
But without the ability to install updates through the WEB GUI
(but on the network this PC (OMV) works).
Now the questions themselves:
(after such a detailed description)
1. Can I ask to include the actual/(fresh/last/new) drivers for Realtek NET Card in the distributive packages?
(link provided earlier)
2. Why such a difference in the work of the installer, depending on the type of OS HDD connection?
(SATA via IDE adapter or direct to SATA)
Thanks for the OMV itself and for the possible changes !
(as well as the answers on the "caught" situation)
P.S
If my question is asked in an inappropriate thread, please (moderators?) Move it to a more correct section.
Thanks again
