MiniDLNA app, there are alternatives?

Hello...

I stream music from the OMV server directly to my receiver (with network connection). I use the OMV plugin "MiniDLNA" for this.

Following problem:

1. During playback, the connection to the server sometimes disconnects without reason

2. my Android app (Neutron player) reads the music library every time it restarts, which takes quite a long time

3. Volumio disconnects during playback and deletes music DB for no reason

I've now read here in some threads that MiniDLNA should not be used. Instead e.g. Jelyfin... I have Emby, but I don't want to integrate my music library into Emby. Only used for videos/movies.

Is there a sensible alternative that doesn't constantly lose the connection. I need simple music streaming, without extra functions such as displaying album covers, searching for information on the web (scrobbling), pointless sorting functions. I only use folder searches. Neither albums, nor artists or anything else.

My emergency solution is streaming via PC to receiver via S/PDIF cable. But I don't want to constantly turn on the PC just to listen to music. OMV runs constantly...

Pretty sure volumio can read from nfs and a quick search makes it seem like Neutron can as well. I use nfs for all of my media. I have one nfs share for video and one for music.

I guess it depends on what devices you're streaming to.. but if it's basically just laptops and phones/tablets... I use Navidrome in docker. Very simple to setup and use.

Guess I cut that off a bit soon, for apps.. There's plenty available.. I use substreamer.. but any app compatible with subsonic should work just fine.

On PC/Notebook I created the release via SMB... But Neutron Player and Volumio have problems with that.

NFS is a good idea, I'll try it.

But these two apps are media servers. I already use Volumio (RasPi) for music and Emby Docker for media. I play the Emby files with Kodi.

I need something similar to miniDLNA. So a headless streamer/server, where you only have to specify the music folder and that's enough. GUI is OK, but without the additional functions (plugins/addons, MusicBrainz/LastFM, cover display, Top100, etc.).
