iirc, i installed it in /root and got no errors, but watchdog doesnt work

then you have the latest code from the OMV-plugin: docker-xbmc-server and the _log-error doesn't show up.

service kodiserver showlog doesn't work because it hasn't the "showlog" function anymore. Please use "kodiserver-helper showlog" instead

why is it i have errors in watchdog scripts if i install it in /opt?
If i install it in /root, watchdog doesnt have errors but it just dont work.

we have some problems with the watchdog-addon. Im waiting for the dev to answer, if he wants to include our changes to his main code.

Du hast anscheinend noch nicht die neueste github version. Bitte der anleitung 4 posts weiter oben folgen.
Neue version in github: Jetzt sollten zumindest im script keine fehler mehr auftauchen.

Please checkout the github again. I have fixed all known errors so far, except the watchdog ones

This "LIbrary scanner" can't create the MySQL-db. Let a "Full Kodi" (e.g. on Win/Linux) create the DB, copy the sources.xml from there to OMV and it should work.

Okay great. seems to work now.
except watchdog - da habt ihr mich heiß gemacht und leider funktioniert es noch nicht.
nihts desto trotz. super arbeit!
hab mir mal die freiheit genommen und ein aktuelleres tutorial gemacht, da das alte 2-3 fehler hat.

./kodiserver-helper clear
./kodiserver-helper install

Edit advancedsettings.xml to your needs.
Also supply your sources.xml to that folder!!! Otherwise the watchdog won't work!

nano kodidata/userdata/advancedsettings.xml
nano kodidata/userdata/sources.xml

Start:
service kodiserver start

If it is finished, check with service kodiserver status and kodiserver-helper showlog if there are any errors

there shouldn't be a difference!
Please upload a DEBUG-log of Kodi for each /opt and /root and I'll have a look.
