I've posted this on the Tailscale subreddit too.
I'm having a problem trying to get my OpenMediaVault server to work as an exit node. Tailscale is running on the host machine and for my general needs, works, but when the machine is set as an exit node on another device, it doesn't work. For example, when I set my server as the exit node on my phone, my phone loses internet access. When I tried it on my laptop (I connected to my phone hotspot and then enabled my server as an exit node through tailscale), I didn't have internet either, but I could ping 1.1.1.1 -- which is what I set the DNS to in Tailscale's local override section. It seems to just be a DNS resolution issue.
I can also set my laptop as an exit node and my phone works just fine. IP is changed to my home WAN and all that.
Any help on this? It would be awesome to get this going as my ISP uses CGNAT and I can't just do a normal VPN without a VPS -- and, in turn, worse security. I imagine it may be an IPtables issue, but I don't know for sure. And I've never messed with IPtables, really.
