my nas no longer connects to my router so I wanted to do it via the command lines, but unable to connect, how do I reset the network card? while my router detects but does not recognize it (before the problem, the IP was fixed) Thank you for your help

You must log in with the root user (and the password you set during the OMV installation). Then run:

omv-firstaid

In the dialog box reconfigure the network.

thank you but... it doesn't work the external network card is the only one that communicated but it's impossible to have an IP from my rooter, I reset both cards, do you have another solution? the problem reached the reset of my udm se, but the ip of the udm se remained the same, all my other devices were reconected but not the nas..

What I have understood so far.

You have an access problem to your NAS. The NAS network has stopped working (apparently for unknown reasons...).

As I see in the image in your first post you were trying to log in with a keyboard and monitor but with the user admin.

Unable to log in with the admin user, so the NAS response was: "This account is currently not available." And that's why I told you that you must log in with the root user.

If you log in with root you can run the omv-firstaid command. Have you been able to do this? You haven't answered this. I only read that you start talking about two network cards (confusing) and I don't understand the rest...

Did the NAS work before? What have you done to make it stop working? Have you changed the network card? Have you changed the router? Have you installed something on the NAS that has broken the network settings? Have you done an update and the network has stopped working? Any other actions that may be relevant?

I can only help you with the information you give me and it is scarce and partly confusing.

hello sorry it's complicated even translated, it doesn't necessarily have the same meaning. Basically the NAS worked, I had to reset my udm se and since then the NAS no longer reconnects (the configuration of the udm se is the same), on the nas I was able to connect as root and reset the 2 network cards but still nothing whether they are static or DHCP

I would say this is a problem related to the udm configuration. I'm sorry, I don't think I'll be able to help you.

Not familiar with the equipment, but a quick look states that the port you have the nas plugged into is a 2.5Gbe WAN port and your motherboard is a 1Gbe port. Does the 2.5Gbe port on the udm auto-negotiate 1Gbe or can it be or does it have to be set at 1Gbe, and since it's a WAN port by default, can it be set to be a LAN port?

Does the nas come up when plugged into one of the 1Gbe ports (ports 1-8)?

hello i tried to connect it directly to my box (delta FREE box) and the result is the same. that's why I think it comes from my NAS

Hello, port 2.5 of the UDM can be put in lan 2.5/1gbs and on the other ports 1 to 8 the problem remains the same

So, where are the ip addresses set from? Is the nas set static or dhcp? If dhcp, the udm would need to have a dhcp server running. If static, it should be set in the same ip range as the rest of the lan.

What ip addresses are you seeing set on different computers?

I agree with chente that if it is the udm setting that changed, that is where the problem is likely originating from.

little progress I took a good look:

inet 127.0.0.1/8 while my udm is 192.168.1.1. So from my udm I created a virtual network on 127.0.0.1/8, the udm still does not detect the nas but I was able to ping from the nas on 127.0.0.1

my entire network which was already static before (two computers running Windows) returned to normal after resetting the udm just the nas which did not recover, on the udm it was an old backup which was put ( at the time of the backup the nas was working) that's why I don't think it comes from the udm, sorry I'm bad at software

Udm can assign DHCP but even when I do it with omv-firstaid the cart does not change and no IP is assigned either statically or DHCP

Steps to follow:

- Log in with the root user. Using an SSH connection or with a keyboard and monitor, it doesn't matter.

- Run the omv-firstaid command

- Choose the option Configure network interface

- Select the network interface with the name: enp0s31f6

- Do you want to configure IPv4 for this interface? The answer is -> Yes

- Do you want to use DHCPv4 for this interface? The answer is -> Yes

- Do you want to configure IPv6 for this interface? The answer is -> No

- Do you want to enable WOL for this interface? The answer is -> No

After that the interface must be configured. Run:

ip a

and publish the result.
