Raid5 durch größere Festplatten erweitern

    Hallo liebe Gemeinde,

    habe ein OMV-NAS (OMV 4.x) mit 4 1Tb-Festplatten im RAID5. Läuft super seit mehreren Jahren.

    Nun wird der freie Speicherplatz eng. Habe 4 2Tb-Festplatten gekauft. Eine habe ich bereits ersetzt und in der RAID-Verwaltung das RAID wieder hergestellt.

    RAID-Zustand = clean. In den nächsten Tagen werde ich auch die anderen 3 Platten ersetzen. Sehe da keine Probleme.

    Wie kann ich dem OMV in der Webbrowseransicht sagen, dass das Raid vergrößert werden muß? Habe gelesen, das alle Aktionen im Webbrowser gemacht werden können.

    Habe keine Lust auf Linuxebene irgendwelche Befehle, die ich eh nicht verstehe, einzugeben. Die Antworten verstehe ich sowieso nicht.

    After all drives have been replaced, there's the option to expand the filesystem:

    Under Storage, Filesystems, click on your filesystem. Then click the resize button.

    OMV4 is way out of date and is unsupported.

    You might consider building OMV6 on a thumbdrive, without disturbing your OMV4 boot drive.

    Otherwise, if you stay with OMV4, don't change anything significant (tweaking, adding or removing shares is fine). Also, I wouldn't try to add plugins or update the OMV4 install, and I certainly wouldn't open up the server to the internet.

    Hi, thanks for the instruction. I exchanged all 4 raid disks for larger ones. Raid is clean. However, when I click on the "Resize" button, nothing happens. Is it OMV4? Thanks for an answer in advance. Greetings Falco

    What do you mean with ssh? And where Ican input The "cat /proc/mdstart"?

    Login to the command line of omv from another computer as the user root for omv


    So from Windows open a command prompt then type in ssh root@<ip address of your omv machine> press enter, then you need to enter the root password, press enter. You are now on the command line of your omv machine
