Can't boot omv 6.5 on new pc after fresh install

  • I have enabled and disabled secret boot. And the most interesting thing. Only Windows boots normally after installation. All Linux-based distributions behave the same way, as I wrote above.

  • He writes "Only Windows boots normally after installation. All Linux-based distributions behave the same way, as I wrote above.". So this is not just an OMV problem. Maybe the board's EFI can't find the Debian/OMV startup file. I would be interested to know which Linux distributions he has tested. There is also such a problem with the Dell Wyse 3040. Since the operating system does not start after installing Debian. Enter "Dell Wyse 3040 Debian install" via Google. Maybe this will help them

  • Microsoft has issued certifications for many Linux distributions, and Debian is among them, so Debian can use Secure Boot, but many Debian-based distributions cannot directly secure boot.

Although some older motherboards also support UEFI, the firmware they carry lacks Microsoft's key database, and they may not be able to boot.

Life is a boring and troublesome thing, it is annoying and stupid.

  • I had the same problem and found the solution.

Enable Wake On LAN on Debian
Wake On Lan on Debian 1.Install ethtool : sudo apt install ethtool Enter...
    dev.to

applied and tested today, nic wol settings are disabled in Debian for non thrusted platforms,

the soluition is to make e persisten wake on lan enabling service.

    It worked for me,

    Kind regards, Henk
