Does the filebrowser user have read-write access to the files? There is a hint about that in the file browser page. Go to the shared folder page, select one and press the ACL button to modify the permissions.

I have several individual USB hard drives ( 6 x WD-Elements 4 + 8 TB ) connected to Openmediavault ( no raid ) and now want to copy data from one hard drive to the other via file browser.
But I always get " 403 Forbidden " displayed.
Where is the error?

You might be getting a "403 Forbidden" error when trying to copy data from one USB hard drive to another via the file browser in OpenMediaVault because you don't have the necessary permissions, the USB hard drives are not properly formatted, or there is a problem with the OpenMediaVault installation.
Try logging in as the root user and trying to copy the files again, and formatting the hard drives using the OpenMediaVault file browser.
Also, try connecting the USB hard drives to a different computer and see if you can copy data between them on that computer.
I would have to have root privileges because I always log in and work as admin.
As for formatting, I have EXT4 as a file system and copying without OMV also works.
As well as copying via an OMV client.
Can it be that any rights must be set ?
