OMV-Extras Bug?!?

chente My greatest respect to you for still investing time to answer to someone who has zero interest in doing something by himself.

    Thank you.

At the moment it seems that my answers may be useful. If I feel that they stop being that way, I will stop responding to this thread.

  • 1. You should install OMV6, not OMV5. OMV5 is obsolete.

    2. If you want to install plex easily without "thinking" you can follow this:

this tutorial doenst work because "wget -O - https://github.com/OpenMediaVa…ckages/raw/master/install | bash[/tt]" doenst work because there is no connection to

    raw.githubusercontent.com (raw.githubusercontent.com)|2606:50c0:8003::154|:443 :rolleyes:

i love tutorials that doesnt work

has anybody an answer to my question in post #1?

Okay, you exhausted my patience. I hope you have better luck with the help of someone else, I'm leaving this thread.

Let anyone who is willing to put up with this type of comments respond, not me anymore.

  • what help??? you didnt give my any help! you only wasted my time!

perhaps you shpuld read the question in my first posting again and perhaps you will understand the question and why your posting was no answer

That's precisely why I'm going to stop responding, apparently I'm not helpful.

I don't have to do anything. Neither I nor anyone on this forum has any obligation to do anything. Everything that is done here is voluntary, therefore I have absolutely no obligation to you or anyone else. You really should think about this.

    Luck.

Your problem is not with my tutorial, it is of another type. But as I told you, I hope someone helps you with that problem, I won't.

    thats your nice tutorial

These types of comments do not contribute anything useful and are not accepted in a forum like this, I have already warned you about this several times but you continue to turn a deaf ear. If you maintain your negative and obviously rude attitude, I will close this thread and ban you. That's one of my few obligations here.

stop talking bullshit to me if your unable to understand the problem or give a solution! dont you have to do anything sensible instead of spamming the forum and insult other users???

    Settle down.

Let's start with a simple question... What do you not understand about the tutorial?

Is it just the fact you do not understand docker or what?

    • Official Post

You definitely made my day with this answer 8o

Hope you find a solution somewhere else as I am pretty sure you're done here.

He's not the first frustrated user to shoot off at the mouth a bit and live to tell the tale. It happens. Antagonizing it further does little to remedy the problem

  • Settle down.

Is it just the fact you do not understand docker or what?

where did i say i dont understand anything? THE TUTORIAL DOESNT WORK because there is no connection to the needed server:

    Quote

Verbindungsaufbau zu raw.githubusercontent.com (raw.githubusercontent.com)|2606:50c0:8002::154|:443 … fehlgeschlagen: Die Wartezeit für die Verbindung ist abgelaufen.

so OMV cannot install the omv-extras (as described in "OMV-EXTRAS AND PLUGINS") needed to make the hole tutorial.

  • btw: i (think i) know what docker is: its a virtual machine to run programs on a capsuled system. but i really dont know why this is neccessary to run a plex server on a system?!?

in germany we say "why making something easy if you can do it complicated" or "Any idiot can make things complicated".

If Developers would make a good job users did not need to spam all the support forums to fix the bullshit the developers do. Do you understand what i mean? Users are people who want to USE technic (in my case: i want to use plex as media server at home) and not to UNDERSTAND and FIX technic and have a lot of stress about it  i would say that regards to at minimum 90% of all users. They dont want to spend hours and hours to make technic running. And i am sure, that also minimum 90% of all users dont need any "rights and users management" on their system. But they spend tousands og hours of their life to fix rights managements of files and drawers where they never gave any rights to.

so in my case im having an heavy PTBS. that means my stress resistance and my concentration are on ultra low level :( And i grow up in the 80s & 90s when computers were easy to use because the were developed of other users and not so called "software developers" who never wrote any code but want to tell millions of users how to fix the bullshit the developer produced

If you have ssh access... What is the output of:

    Code
    ping -c5 google.com

That's all well and fine, but this issue has nothing to do with the devs as best I can tell. First understand the two devs who do almost everything on this project, do so in their free time. They have real jobs to support themselves and their families.

There are multiple people options out there if you want paid support, omv just is not one of them.
