Wireguard - Adding a new client doesn't create a config file

  • I enabled Wireguard on my OMV6 instance, version 6.9.7-1 (Shaitan), configured the tunnel, and added a new client and applied config changes.

    Pretty straight forward so far.

But no QR code is generated for the client and when I try and click Client Config I get the following error:

    Code
    500 - Internal Server Error
Client config file does not exist. Please apply changes.

When I take a look at the logs I see:

    Code
omv-engined[34305]: Executing background process failed: Client config file does not exist. Please apply changes. (file=/usr/share/openmediavault/engined/rpc/wireguard.inc, line=368).

When I look at the inc file I see it expects a user config file at /etc/wireguard/wgnet_client$clientnum, but that folder is indeed empty when I look at it.

I see no other errors in the omv syslog when creating the tunnel or client through the UI, the error only shows up when I try and open the actual config.

  • D'oh -.-

    I just figured it out.

When I created the tunnel I didn't check the "enabled" option.

Now that I did, both the tunnel and client config files are available and the QR code is generated.

Marking thread as solved and leaving for posterity XD
