Recently one of my drives was marked as BAD by OMV gui (S.M.A.R.T. section of the dashboard) which I appreciated but I never did get an email notifying me of it (it was a 187 Reported_Uncorrect). Afterwards I kept getting more of those same errors as the days passed and still I didn't get an email either. Then the bad sector count started to increase and now OMV gui marks the drive as "warning" instead of bad (not sure why it's condition seemingly improved since a warning is safer than BAD) but I still did not get any notification... I have SMART enabled for notifications and I'm getting notifications for all sorts of cron jobs just fine, what could've caused this? My mail queue is empty btw.

That's correct. Enabling the alerts on the drive immediately fired the notifications.. not sure why they aren't enabled by default?
