yes. Just to be clear, none of this had anything to do with omv-extras. You just have to have apt in a good place to install omv-extras (or any new package).

I switched to root sudo su
and cd to /etc/kernel/postinst.d/
and rm z50-raspi-firmware
then sudo apt-get purge raspi-firmware
