Change of MB without reinstall possible?

Yeah i thought this might be the case whenever i get to my OMV installation.

That at least explains the NVME missing.

Still i cannot boot. Somewhere it was mentioned that there is no legacy boot option. I think when deleting the Secure boot keys from the BIOS it is the same as legacy boot. Still doesnt work up to here.

Ok, weird update: I unplugged the SATA drives, booted from systemrescue bootstick. replugged SATA drives and now they are found at BIOS POST. So that part is solved.

Ok i am able to boot OMV from a systemrescue USB device and from there start the boot process.

I suspect this is due to missing UEFI mode on the SSD?

Any idea how to move forward?

What caught my eye are these errors:

I am kind of stuck. Don't know how to move on here.....

Ok, this might be interesting also for chente. I think i found the reason why UEFI boot cannot be switched to Legacy on this Mainboard.

You need to activate CSM, which is greyed out on my system. The reason for it being greyed out is that it only becomes available if you plug in an extra graphics card. Sounds weird but that seems to be the case. That is also the case for other Asus mainboards.

Still no idea how i can migrate my installation

Would moving from MBR to GPT possibly fix it?

Couldn't i use a second drive, set ip up as GPT and then migrate the old MBR drive to it?

I have done some yes. Issue is that it's hard for me to distinguish what is recognized by regen and what not. Also it's hard to remember everything i did to be honest.

How would i run omv-regen without being able to boot into my OMV anyways? I assume i need to create a backup first.

Yes, which means i would have to screw out the new mainboard and screw in the old one again.

I have a backup of the system drive done with clonezilla. So I could still go back to that if i fail with the GPT conversion.

I have now installed omv-regen and run a backup.

But I am still not comfortable with this solution. I will give the UEFI migration another go.

I think i managed to migrate my existing bootdisk to UEFI using this manual: Legacy to UEFI boot

Will now get the new mainboard in again and report
