omv suspend flexible

  • Hello OMV fans.

My OMV 6.9.12-2 (Shaitan) is actually running perfectly. I am now in the process of improving the energy balance.

Since I don't use OMV every day, but only on a case-by-case basis, I would like to shut down the NAS in the evening on a scheduled basis and wake it up again if necessary.

This works almost perfectly via the web gui.

    /#/system/powermgmt/tasks

So this is apparently a cronjob. I can't find it, does it work via anacron?

    /var/spool/anacron/crond.daily

    No, I can't find it.

    My problem is the following:

Sometimes a longer rsync or another long-running process is running, or I am still logged into the shell for once. It would be ideal if the scheduled suspend would not suspend the NAS, but wait in this case or simply do nothing at all.

If I could find the script, I would have the chance to extend it.

If not, then I'll write my own script, no problem, but an integration into the OMV environment would be cool.

I hope I have conveyed my thoughts clearly.

  • Ohh, thank you macom.

That's even more convenient and universal than what I had in mind.

Even if I don't quite understand a few options like the IP ranges, it seems to be exactly that.

Do I understand correctly that it is shut down regardless of the time?

So if I enable "Forced uptime" does that mean that the NAS will run at least that long and the other conditions will only be taken into account afterwards?

But, it should not start at fixed hours, only if wake on magic packets
