Canno't install KVM broken dependencies

  • I can't get the kvm plugin installed, I allow backports and do an apt clean, but it doesn't seem to fix anything, it returns this

    • Official Post

Press the enable backports button in the omv-extras GUI and then run and publish the output of:

    omv-aptclean repos

Do you have a proxmox kernel installed?

Thanks, this is working now, but it keeps telling me this

  • Did you solve the repository problem? What is the output now of:

    sudo omv-aptclean repos

Ok, in that case I would update

    omv-upgrade

I would then install a proxmox kernel https://wiki.omv-extras.org/do…=omv6:omv6_plugins:kernel

and try installing the kvm plugin again.

What you have is a problem with package version dependencies. At each stage of package development it is advisable to either activate backports or deactivate them. By analyzing the versions of those packages that give errors you could find out what to do with more certainty. Generally when this happens to me I don't look too hard, I install a proxmox kernel and it works. The proxmox kernel is actually a ubuntu kernel, it won't hurt you to install it.

The kvm plugin is sometimes a little picky about this when installing.

In this case I'm running out of ideas, sorry. Maybe Krisbee or someone else has other ideas.

If it were my system I would do other things but I don't want to break yours.

    3.7.1-5+deb11u4

This package is the one that should be installed on Bullseye. I don't know what the reason is for the candidate to be a later version.

  • Just to check. What is the output of

    dpkg -l | grep openme

    Code
    david@openmediavault:~$ dpkg -l | grep openme

  • ahhh maybe I broke something, because now I can't even update the plugins or anything, I installed the exact version of libgnutls30 and now when I update the plugins it tells me

and when I launch "sudo apt-get install --reinstall openmediavault-keyring" which solved it, it tells me

    "david@openmediavault:~$ sudo apt-get install --reinstall openmediavault-keyring

    Reading package list... Done

You may want to run "apt --fix-broken install" to fix this.

The following packages have unfulfilled dependencies:

chrony : Depends: libgnutls30 (>= 3.7.5) but 3.7.1-5+deb11u4 is going to be installed.

    criu : Depends: libgnutls30 (>= 3.7.5) but 3.7.1-5+deb11u4 will be installed.

E: Unfulfilled dependencies. Try "apt --fix-broken install" without packages (or specify a workaround).

    "

And if I launch "apt --fix-broken install" it tells me that it's going to uninstall a bunch of packages like compose, which I don't want.

    I think I screwed up

That's why I didn't want to continue taking any more steps, I don't feel safe giving this type of instructions through a forum, more or less I know how far I can safely go. This would be my fault if I had told you to do it and I don't want to break anyone's system. Do you have a system backup?
