Yes, I knew it too. But I thought it was already written somewhere. It is impossible to remember everything that is written and what is not.

When a new user comes in and reads the guide from start to finish is the best time to ask.

Try adding a DNS in the client's Wireguard configuration. That DNS should be the IP of your DHCP server on your local network (usually the router).

You don't need to modify anything in the plugin or modify the settings. Just edit the tunnel configuration on the smartphone and add that IP in the corresponding field at the top, the one for the network interface, not the peer.

In that field of the application you could write the IP of the server in the tunnel. If it is the first tunnel you have created it should be 10.192.1.254 and I think that should work. You can see that IP in the tunnel tab by clicking on the Tunnel config button.

But it shouldn't be necessary to do that. The wireguard tunnel should divert your smartphone traffic through the tunnel and route all IP requests from your local network there.

I think the problem is that you have simply configured a DNS with 1.1.1.1 and the requests are not reaching where they should go. Try modifying that value and also adding the IP of your router, something like this:

DNS=1.1.1.1,192.168.1.1

Assuming your router is 192.168.1.1

The two IPs are separated with a comma.

In reality it is generally not necessary to define any DNS on the client. Wireguard solves it without help, except on some special smartphones.

For the avoidance of doubt, it is normal that you do not have to change the values in the application. The same setup that works with local wifi should also work with the data connection through the wireguard tunnel.

That seems like something related to DNS resolution. Have you tried leaving the DNS blank? If it is not necessary, it is better not to enter any value. I have never set up DNS and have never had any problems.

I have the server's local IP configured and I can access the files. I never use it because I have Nextcloud but I just tried it and it works.

Just to confirm, check that this still works after every change you make. If the browser is able to resolve the addresses, that application should also resolve them.

This confirms that the tunnel is working. It is not possible for it to work for some things and not for others. If it works, it is for the entire smartphone.
