replaced Mobo - cannot set network with omv-firstaid

  • Hello,

I cloned my system drive + data drives with clonezilla and cannot get the network card working on new motherboard/system.

The new system is an identical PC (Fujitsu Esprimo i5-6500) with identical everything. When I run omv-firstaid to reconfigure the network i get the following error:

ERROR: Failed to connect /var/lib/openmediavault/engine.sock: [Errno 111] Connection refused

    Thanks for any help,

    David

Here is the network info from the system info dump-file (complete file attached):

  • cannot get the network card working on new motherboard/system.

Run omv-firstaid on the CLI to fix the NIC

Didn't read it through (seeing it on phone sideways)

    Try

    ifup -av

  • Didn't help: Following error message

  • Sorry, no more ideas other than check if the cables are well connected since it shows No Link

    Link detected: no

  • no cables since it is SSD

I'm talking about the ethernet cable

  • Ah ok, lol. Ethernet cable worked fine. I chose to move from V6 to V7 and installed OMV V7 from scratch. Thanks for you help.

  • resolved:

I couldn't help myself and dug a little deeper.

    WHat finally helped:

replaced the MAC of the old NIC with the MAC of the new NIC in:

    etc/netplan/20-openmediavault-enp0s31f6.yaml
