Unable to access OMV locally

  • I am running OMV 6.x. It has been fairly easy to run and maintain. I recently installed some updates that were listed on the updates section in OMV. After which I can not access the server through the local IP address 192.168.1.250. I am unable to log on with putty or even ping the OMV server. From the server console I can ping and traceroute out of my local network and it acts normally. I am unable to ping inside of the local network. I ran omv-firstaid and re-setup the network cards to no avail. I verified on my router connected clients table that the two network cards are setup to their designated IP's. OMV is still running Plex which I can only access remotely now. Also, it is still updating video's, new ones have appeared on the plex server. It is acting like it is on a different subnet or something. (which I verified it is not, running standard 255.255.255.0 ). I would really appreciate input on how to resolve this.

    Thank you.

  • Thank you for your response. I did try to run omv-firstaid before I posted the first time. It didn't resolve the issue. I did some additional research and remembered one of the updates was for Nordvpn listed in OMV. I disabled Nordvpn and I can access local IP address, i.e.. 192.168.1.x addresses. However now I have lost connectivity to the internet. When I enable Nordvpn it allows net traffic and prevents local. So it is Nordvpn issue not a OMV one. Thank you.

  • After searching the Nordvpn forums, There is a bug in release 3.18.x that prevents whitelists for local network subnets. Using Lan discovery resolves it but you are unable to use Lan discovery with kill switch. The suggested resolve is to downgrade to 3.17.4 until it is resolved or deal with no kill switch.
