Switch from motherboard provided 1 GBit/s Ethernet port to 2.5 GBit/s PCIe network card, recommendations?

Hi,

next weekend I will install an PCIe network card (with RTL8125B chip) to my 6.9.16-1 (Shaitan) running NAS. I plan to deactivate the motherboard Ethernet port per BIOS and then to make the HW upgrade. In case the RTL8125B Realtek chip has native Linux kernel support, i.e. it will be running w/o further system changes:

What do I have to consider in view of the OMV setup?

Great, the command line interface command

OMV-firstaid

was able to setup the new network card, i.e. the Debian Linux was aware of the used Realtek chip and it works as expected, i.e.:

Speed: 2500Mb/s

Duplex: Full

Additional I had to adapt my router setup, i.e. re-assign the (my) static IP-address of the before used network-HW. That is it, no more other tasks because I do not use services (beside of SSH and SMB/CIFS).
