cannot boot - error: file `/boot/vmlinuz-6.1.0-0.deb11.21-amd64' not found

Here's what happened:
I scheduled a simple bash script to run in the OMV task scheduler, and executed it manually (through the interface) to test it. I was kicked out of the web GUI, and unable to log back in (500 permission denied error). So I rebooted the machine, and when it came back up, I got:

Loading Linux 6.1.0-0.deb11.21-amd64 ...
error: file '/boot/vmlinuz-6.1.0-0.deb11.21-amd64' not found.
Loading initial ramdisk ...
error: you need to load the kernel first.

How do I repair this?

Yeah, I didn't go into details about the script itself, because it's just a simple little thing that moves some media files out of subdirectories into the parent directory and then deletes the empty subdirectories. that's it. it doesn't touch anything on the boot drive, or alter any permissions on anything or do anything at all outside that one media folder.

yeah, there are several, and I get the same result from them all.

ended up restoring from a system backup, and I'm (mostly) recovered. thanks!
