ZFS error updating system

    • Official Post

After updating the system I receive a ZFS error.

    Code
    ...
    Setting up openmediavault-zfs (7.1) ...
modprobe: FATAL: Module zfs not found in directory /lib/modules/6.8.8-2-pve
New plugin install, not inserting uuid property into existing datasets
ERROR: The state 'zfs' does not exist
    ...

This is the full output of the update:

Apparently everything is working correctly, except that after restarting the PC it got stuck and I had to forcefully shut it down and start again.

Do I have to worry or do something else?

This is fine. The plugin tries to load the module and I just wasn't hiding the message for the many years. The next release will but this is not a problem since you are using the proxmox kernel which has the zfs module compiled in.

Do you have a non-proxmox kernel still installed? Do zfs commands work?

    OK thanks.

No. I have the 6.2 and the 6.8. The active kernel is 6.8

    Do zfs commands work?

Yes, they have always worked. I just checked it and it works fine.

Then you are just seeing warnings that have always been there.

I pushed updates to make the install process quieter and removed some unneeded install code. 7.1.1 is in the repo.
