How to transfer files and users from old OMV server to new OMV server

Hi,

I have been using the old version of Openmediavault (version 4.1.36) for a long time. There are quite a lot of files and users. Also, users have access rights to the files. I want to switch to the new version of OMV (version 7.4.6) and transfer all users and files to it. I installed the new version of OMV on another server. I could not find much information about how to transfer files and users from the old OMV server to the new OMV server. Can anyone help me with this issue?

I think your best option is to take screenshots of your current setup and try to reproduce it on the new system. It is a jump from many versions of OMV.

Regarding data, simply mount the data disks to the new system once installed. Make sure you have no data folders on the operating system hard drive or you will lose them.

aditionally, you need to know UUID & GUID of your user / files, to assing correctly permission on new OMV, best way is start to create users in order ( first user is always UUID=1000, second created user in webGUI is UUID=1001 , and so on.
