can i still install OMV 6 on a Raspberry Pi 4?

  • i want to still use OMV 6 as it permits me using USB drives in RAID, i have a setup with my movies on which i'd like to keep

It's standing right beside my media player that i use(d) to watch them

    all connected via network

tried to look for solutions but can't find the answer i'm looking for

  • OMV6 is EOL (End Of Life), it does not get any updates anymore, also no security updates.....

And raid on a pi isn't advised.

To answer your question, I think it is possible, but absolutely not advised!

    OMV 7

    Plugins - omvExtras | LVM2 | Compose plugin | SFTP | ...

    System - x86 intel - 2*4TB WD Red plus - 500GB WD Blue SSD

    Docker - Nextcloud | wg-easy | swag | vaultwarden | syncthing | gitea

that is OK for me, not visible anywhere but in my home, so no updates per se needed, regarding raid on Pi, works for me as not subjected to any stress

Security updates are always needed. Raid is not supported on OMV 6 either. So, you want to run an unsupported version using unsupported raid but still want support?

Install OMV 7. Sync the drives with rsync instead of raid. If you don't want to take my advice, you will have to create the raid array the same way you would on OMV 6. You will have to find that info elsewhere.
