OMV 6 Don't Boot - Grub Error

  • Hello everyone!!

    I'll tell you my problem:

    (Sorry for Google Translator)

I had an updated OMV v6 working perfectly on a 4th generation Intel Core i3 computer, with an Asus motherboard in a physical installation. I also have a PCI-E controller with 8 SATA ports, currently I have 11 SATA disk drives connected.

The disk configuration is simple, each disk is formatted in EXT4, WITHOUT RAID

One of the disks is configured in iSCSI mode, configured from OMV "for testing, can be deleted".

I also have two hard drives with MergeFS.

I plan to migrate OMV to Proxmox with a virtual machine. But before the migration I wanted to perform performance tests on the same computer, on a test installation of Proxmox 8 and an OMV 7 virtual machine.

Of course, I installed Proxmox and the OMV7 VM on a new SSD hard drive and before that I disconnected all the hard drives from the original installation.

I have already performed the tests successfully.

The problem comes when I disconnect the new Proxmox SSD and reconnect all the previous hard drives exactly as they were before in the same ports, etc.

When I try to boot the operating system, it does not boot and I get this grub error:

    GRUB loading..

    error: disk ‘lvmid/ID_number/ID_number’ not found.
    Grub rescue>

I installed OMV with the CSM/UEFI type option in the BIOS set to automatic and Secure Boot to “other non-Windows operating systems”.
From what I have been able to check in the partition table it seems that the installation was done in UEFI mode (/boot/EFI).

I have tried to boot in all possible modes with UEFI, in CSM mode, with Secure Boot, without Secure Boot, etc. and it does the same thing.

I have searched for information about this error and I have followed the steps indicated to perform a grub repair with both EFI and normal grub, but without success.

To perform the repair tests I have started with an Ubuntu desktop live USB and I see all the content of the disks, etc.

I ask for your help, thank you very much in advance !!
