SnapRaid - Which FS for big parity drives?

  • Hi,

I have two 20TB drives that will be used as parity drives, while the other drives are smaller, with a maximum capacity of 18TB.

Since the parity data is stored as a single large file, are there any file systems that handle large individual files better than others?

Considering factors like speed, reliability, and available space, what would be the best option?

I would recommend xfs. It is a very fast, stable filesystem that handles very large filesystems and files well.
