When trying to apt update
apt update

In 2025 i have the same problem.

My solution in this case (new OMV 7 installation):

Check

root@omv:/etc/apt# docker --version && sudo docker compose version
Docker version 27.4.1, build b9d17ea
Docker Compose version v2.32.1
root@omv:/etc/apt# s

Install OMV 7

Install omv-extras

For a quick installation of omv-extras, on Openmediavault, run the following command as root:

wget -O - https://github.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/packages/raw/master/install | bash

    Or read the guide.

    To install Openmediavault AND omv-extras, follow this guide.

sudo apt update
sudo apt dist-upgrade

Install "openmediavault-compose 7.3.1" with the OMV 7 GUI

Terminal ssh

sudo su

docker
bash: docker: command not found

omv7:docker_in_omv [omv-extras.org]

Where we have a tutorial step by step for install docker-compose with the OMV 7 GUI?

new fresh install

openmediavault_7.4.17-amd64.iso

now Version 7.5.0-1 (Sandworm)

as root

wget -O - https://github.com/OpenMediaVault-Plugin-Developers/packages/raw/master/install | bash 

Now i used only the OMV 7 GUI, than the check

docker --version && sudo docker compose version
Docker version 27.4.1, build b9d17ea
Docker Compose version v2.32.1
