Recover MergerFS data after reinstallation

  • Hello, I had to re-install OMV 7 after an issue with my system. So I used the same disks at the same sata connectors but can not recover my data on mergerfs.

    My system is as follows:

    Msata for OS

1 Tb SSD for docker files (compose, backup and data)

    mergerfs:

    1 Tb SSD

    1 Tb SSD

    2 Tb SSD

The data on the mergerfs disks are there, I can see by the used percentage, but after I rebuild it with the same disks, I'm not able to access the data.

What should I do? Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  • Delete the mergerfs pool and define it again.

    OMV AMD64 7.x on headless Chenbro NR12000 1U 1x 8m Quad Core E3-1220 3.1GHz 32GB ECC RAM.

  • Define "didn't work."

mergerfs doesn't manipulate the filesystems in the pool in any special way.

    Usage and Functionality - mergerfs

You mount the filesystems, create the mergerfs pool, the files will be there. It's trivial to check. Open a terminal, check the list of mounts, confirm mergerfs is running, goto the mountpoint, run `ls` or similar. If as a non-root identity you don't see things but as root you do it's because your permissions are messed up.
