  • After having my OMV setup running for about a week, I can no longer log in to the web GUI, even after changing the admin PW successfully with omv-firstaid. I have liked my experience with OMV thus far, but this sudden loss of access is not acceptable. I have tried using a different browser, emptying the browser cache, and all to no avail.

    Approved the thread.
  • Have you checked disk usage and verified that the rootfs in not filled up?

In the shell run this command:

    Code
    df -h

A backup strategy is worthless unless you have a verified to work by testing restore strategy.

    OMV AMD64 7.x on headless Chenbro NR12000 1U Intel Xeon CPU E3-1230 V2 @ 3.30GHz 32GB ECC RAM.

    OMV AMD64 8.x on headless Tyan Thunder SX GT86C-B5630 1U Server with Intel Xeon Silver 4110 CPU @ 2.10GHz & 32GB DDR4 ECC RAM.

  • , I can no longer log in to the web GUI,

    What exactly happens?

Is it a "login loop" where you enter the user and password and it just returns to the empty login page?

  • Try going back to OMV Firstaid and and reset failed login attempt counter.

  • After reading multiple posts, I have found that the system disk is nowhere near full, going to another browser also failed, using an incognito browser failed too. Multiple reboots has not succeded in my being able to log in. I have another server running with OMV with no issues. Otherwise, the server with the admin password problem is running correctly.

  • Tried again and see this in the console section of dev tools.

  • Being fed up with the lack of solutions to my problem, I gave up and built a new SD. After getting OMV installed, I again had issues connecting, even with SSH. Once I resolved that, omv-firstaid only gave an unknown command error. After doing a lot of research and getting nowhere, in desparation, I decided to run the second(install) script, and so far, that seems to have cured the problems. Time will tell...

What OS and browser are you using?

  • Debian Bookworm without a Desktop environment on a Raspberry Pi 4. I usually use Chrome, but as reported previously, I tried Edge and Incognito Chrome. I have not yet installed Firefox on this new PC, but since the new setup on the Pi appears to be working, I will not install Firefox on the PC just to test. I still need to finish setting up everything to match the previous setup.
