TERRAMASTER D2-320 and DAS inquiry

  • Has anyone had success with Terramaster DAS? If so, what disk approach, JBOD, RAID, etc.? Specifically, I am looking at the TERRAMASTER D2-320. I am running Raspberry Pi Lite (Debian) on a RaPi5, booting to an NVMe HAT using a Crucial 256GB m.2 2280. OMV is working well, but the two Inatek jmicron-based USB enclosures keep getting random assignments, causing headaches even with tweaking. I am looking for suggestions on known compatible DAS hardware. Much thanks.

  • Your Problem may depend on udev rules for Disks. USB Disks are late bound (behind USB Drivers) and not always persistent.
It may help accessing disks only by uuid per device/partition.
    see /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-storage.rules and #lsblk -f
I don't think it's caused by the hardware itself. This problem basically affects anyone using more than two USB devices.
Anything else should be visible as an error in the syslog. But in my Opinion OMV is uuid-proof ... dont know why this occurs.
