bademux/433tomqtt container update or alternative?

  • Hi there again,

I am using bademux 433tomqtt container in OMV (as well as a container for a mqtt broker)

for a long time now and everything works fine. I was looking now to the protocols and

found out, in the bademux container the version of 433_rtl only got 166 protocols, on

the latest 433_rtl git there are now 276 protocols. Just changing the 433.conf dont switch

on the new protocols, getting error: only 176 protocols enabled but 276 listed.

So I have to update the 433_rtl in the docker itself, but how? In the container bash,

I found no solution to do this.

Is there a newer container with latest 433-rtl version that I can use?

I did this a long time ago and many things are lost in my braindrawers. :/

  • You can probably create that (updated 433tomqtt) yourself. The github page of that project only has a dockerfile. You could try to update the dependencies and build via the docker plugin. I haven't done that (building a docker image) but my guess is that it could work.

  • Hey, I totally get the “braindrawers” thing—been there! Yeah, the bademux container doesn't always stay super up-to-date with the latest 433_rtl builds. If updating from inside the container isn't working (which is common with slimmed-down images), your best bet might be to either build a custom Docker image using the latest 433_rtl from GitHub, or check if someone has already done that and published it to Docker Hub. I haven’t seen an official newer one from bademux, but building your own with the updated repo should solve the protocol mismatch issue. Let me know if you want a hand writing a Dockerfile!
